Public Notice-Drone Electric Asset Inspections

Columbus Utilities Public Notice - Drone Electric Asset Inspections

Starting August 18th and over the next 2-3 months, Columbus Utilities will be conducting Aerial Utility Asset Inspections throughout the Columbus Utilities service territory. These inspections will be carried out by authorized drone operators.

The drones will capture high-resolution images of electric poles, components, and conductor conditions. Flights will occur within approximately 30 feet of electric infrastructure and along electric corridors from asset to asset.

For your safety, please do not approach inspection teams while drones are in flight. Our operators will be happy to answer any questions once the aircraft has safely landed.
